Cover Letter for Medical Jobs (Nursing)

A cover letter acts as a professional document that is drafted in order to get an interview call from the recruiter. The main purpose of drafting the cover letter is to highlight the essential part of the resume. In other words, a cover letter is an overview of the resume. Basically, a cover letter contains 3 elements; the first is the introductory part that includes the main objective of the cover letter i.e. the position for which you are applying; the second is the informative part that includes your personal and professional details, educational qualifications, past experiences, achievements and extra-curricular activities; and the third and last part is the salutation part wherein you thank the recruiter for their valuable support and consideration in going through the cover letter. It is important that the cover letter be short and precise with relevant information i.e. do not lengthen the cover letter and enter the correct information; otherwise it may create some trouble in future.

There is a particular structure for drafting a cover letter i.e. it starts with the details of the job seeker (name, address, telephone number and email id), followed by the current date or the date on which the cover letter is drafted. Then comes the details of the employer (name of the employer, designation, name of the company and address of the company). After that mention the subject of the cover letter i.e. the main purpose of drafting the cover letter (the post for which you are applying), followed by the reference, if any. The reference sometimes proves to be very important in getting a job. Then comes the main body of the cover letter that is divided into 3 sections that we have discussed earlier. At the end of the cover letter, put the signature followed by your name and do remember to attach the resume with the other essential documents with the cover letter.
